How did we come to this....

This election was extremely hard for me, on several levels. I strongly disliked both candidates. Regardless of any of my personal opinions, I respect each and every person who exercised their right to vote yesterday.

Exactly. I very much have my own opinions, and I strongly disagree with the other side of it....but I respect it. I don't necesarily understand it, but I respect that it is their beleifs. I have to admit that it was hard going to teach this morning. I feel cruel administering tests to these children, and yet I am required to. And apparently will be required to for the next four years. And it breaks my heart.

Hey babe, I completely agree with you on respecting one another from exercising their right to vote. There were some people who were pretty damn sure on who they were voting for, but I know there were a lot of people, Tracy included, that it was an extremely difficult decision to make. It just makes me sad that four years later, we're even more divided than we were when he was elected the first time...that people (Tracy, you are not included in this category) are gloating that their man won, and our nation is divided. This whole thing just makes me sad.

And, ps. to Tracy, in response to last night's phone call, of course I still love you. :) You know I always will love you, even if you voted for that crazy guy in Cleveland who wanted to make summer birthdays national holidays. :)
