That's really cool - apparently I read 44% faster than average, and this means I could read War & Peace in just over a day. Which is handy to know, because I've had it on my shelf for at least five years.....
I've done it a couple of times now, and I vary wildly. My last one said that I could read 1200 words per minute but, to be fair, the extract was from the beginning of Alice in Wonderland which I'd already read and the questions were really easy (what did the white rabbit take out of his waistcoat pocket?)! I just really like stuff like this *is sad* lol Yeah, I've had War and Peace since I was about 18 (and seriously pretentious, obvs) but have never read it yet (and OMG I'll be 40 next month, sigh). How's the flat buying coming along?
I got about a quarter of the way through and then realised I had no idea what was going on, but lacked the motivation to go back and start again. And thus my bookmark stayed, unmoved.
Flat buying is beyond tedious. We have offered on somewhere and as far as we can tell, we demonstrably have the funds, but it's all going so slowly - we have a tentative move-in date of June 15th, and no idea whatsoever about why it's all taking so long.
Is this the beautiful flat (with the nice fireplace) that you posted the photos of? I do sympathise with you about the length of time it seems to be taking - when we bought our present home it felt as if no-one was pushing it through quickly as they thought it didn't matter because there were no actual problems, if you see what I mean...
