Sounds like it went well. It's been ages since I've played any L5R or any card games, except for Pimp:The Backhanding or Munchkin.

Tiring but fun. I had even considered trying to contact your brother to see if he felt inclined to come out of retirement for the occasion of the first-ever Kotei in Vancouver (Crane is rather good, and fun to play at the moment), but ran out of time to deal with that type of ancillary stuff as the preparations mounted. Maybe next year!
