("The Secret to Motivation" via stretta)

Sorry I'm in a video spamming mode; I don't have anything interesting to say.

"Reverberation decay of concrete structures, as applied to hair metal" is an interesting take on metal bands "selling out" (read: playing slower riffs).

Even if you don't have anything interesting to say, at least you have interesting things to post.

er... that isn't to say you don't NORMALLY have interesting things to say, because you do. But... I mean today.

I know this was posted a while ago, but I want to reply anyway.

The animation is neat.

That said, I am vaguely familiar with some of the research he is speaking of (and I watched the full speech this animation was based on to make sure what was missing wasn't due to the selected parts for the animation), and he butchered the research. You don't even have to know the research to spot the holes, just listen to his version of them, it doesn't add up. And even if it did, his version of it doesn't fit his conclusions (you can't say a higher reward led to poorer performance and then say incentives don't matter... cause if incentives were neutral then performance would be orthogonal to reward and higher rewards wouldn't lower or raise performance at all).

The animation was neat, the research he is talking about is neat, his butchered version for his motivational speech is atrocious.
