i kind of am annoyed when someone says "i hate rap. it degrades women & all they rap about are about shooting people and hoes", etc. If you truly believe that ALL rap/hip-hop is the same, then you don't know. I will admit that I think most of this new rap is crap. Seriously.

I love rap's honesty. & those beats!

call me ~ignorant~ or whatever but you have to admit that the majority of rap is like DRUGS/SEX/MONEY/MURDER/BRING DOWN THE MAN.

Though I do love rap when it's done with themes and subjects that actually MATTER.

I believe that not ALL rap/hip-hop is that way.

I just don't hear a lot of it.

I was never one for rap, but that was only because I didn't like the beat. Most of what I heard, anyway, was what honeyxsoxsweet covered, and that didn't very much appeal to me, either.

I like music that speaks to me. Like Katrina and the Waves and t.A.T.u. and KC & the Sunshine Band.

I think most mainstream/modern rap has lost its meaning. Older rap/underground rap is pretty great and touching. Some of it can give me goosebumps!
