I've been very busy this last week - gone to induction, got my timetable (sucky beyond the telling of it), been shown around my campus (futile like you wouldn't believe), gone belly dancing, Scottish dancing (twice) and gone on a treasure hunt around Edinburgh. I'm exhausted ( Read more... )

Hey there. Sounds like its going well, well at least a little bit. I've been at it for 2 weeks already, here in the metropolis that is Huddersfield. I envy you! I may in fact demand rights to come and see you (or see Edinburgh.. read as you will).

I'm now, even more, reminded of how bad it is not having an internet connection. I had no idea you had come over to the Uk or that you were studying. I demand satisfaction in having my internet connection back, and will become forceful once more with BT I feel.

Erm, if you are free and ever fancy a trip/visitor than I would like to see you again. Hope all is well.

... I'm going to guess, perhaps utterly wrongly, that Huddersfield is not exactly the most happening place in the UK? ;-) I have to admit, if I didn't like Scottish dancing, I'd be bored out of my skull here, I think. And doubly so if I didn't have internet!

My classes start tomorrow - I have no idea how much research and indepedent research is going to be involved yet, but I'm kind of hoping there'll be free time somewhere - but I already know it's not the holidays. I have less than two weeks at Christmas, and exams a week after I get back. Sucks. But I'll let you know!

Hope you get internet sorted soon...

I have yet to find any sort of "happening" environment here I have to admit. There isn't even a university Ceilidh society, or at least there doesn't appear to be one. I envy your ability to go dancing. Thus far my greatest achievement has been to locate the roleplaying/sci-fiction types. Its a minor victory, I'm hoping it will be enough.

I have the "dubious" honor of starting my time in school at the end of this week. Officially this means I lose any spare time, and from the general discussion of others it also means I'm no longer human and fall into the strange anti-social life speicies called teacher. Thus far I haven't noticed a difference and assume on my first mentor will put me into some sort of mutation chamber.

Still it means I have holidays, half term for a start and a nice block of 3 weeks for Christmas. I'll ignore the fact that there is also a rather nice Summer holiday on the horizon.

Hope it goes well today, maybe see you soon.
