Chapter 5??! I'm completely confused how I missed Chapter 4! When did Chapter 4 happen?!

In any case, both chapters were very good - if you'll forgive my lack of descriptive elegance. Really, they're far, far better than just good with a very. ;)

I think what I love about Ducking (and your fics in general, even) is the sense of normalcy and smooth reality you're so easily able to portray. None of this story felt expressly fictional, which lends a... giddy sense of glee that these characters can be so real and with each other! - The natrual progression Remus acknowledges being neither imagined nor artificially induced through the unfolding of the story. And in terms of their story, which we are blissfully not told much about, I think your telling is absolutely believable, and, of course, preferable. :)

Early stars twinkled high in the sky which still clung on to a hue of delicate yellow at the horizon and juncture with the sea which seemed to rock slightly in tones of grey and steely blue. You did it again - another incredible ( ... )

I never really got round to mentioning chapter four properly on my LJ, but it went up at ff.net.

Anyway, thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed both the chapters, and I'm really pleased that you find a sense of normalcy because that's exactly what I was trying to go for - to show how these two people can try and make whole and proper relationship around the duties they have in war.

Thanks for singling out that line, it's great to know that some of it stands out.

Yep, there will be more Ducking. I'm too fond of this particular pair to let them go just yet!

Thanks for leaving such a lovely review and I hope your headache gets better soon. :)

I read this back on FF.n and just loved it, and I'm happy I stuck through it and waited until the very end.

I love how you captured a Honeymoon like feel to it, even if it isn't their honeymoon! And you have both Remus and Tonks in character, and I don't think I'm going to get Remus in his boxers out of my head anytime soon!

Great fic and I can't wait to see more form this verse.

Thank you for sticking with me! I'm glad you found it worth the wait.

I'd not thought about it but I suppose there is an element of the honeymoon to the getaway - the longed for time along after having to please all those other people. I hope the thought of Remus in underwear doesn't distract you from anything too important, but it's not a bad image to have in your head. ;)

I'm currently working on the next fic, but I think it's unlikely I'll finish it before the next metamorfic_moon event kicks off.

Thanks for reading and for letting me know you enjoyed it. :)

What a lovely conclusion to a wonderful story! One of the (many) things I like about "Ducking" is the way it acknowledges that Order duties keep Remus and Tonks busy, and surely get in the way sometimes. You'd made your readers just as anxious as Remus and Tonks to find out when the interrupted developments in Chapter 2 were finally going to take their natural course, and this final chapter is everything we (and Remus and Tonks, poor things!) could've hoped for. It's simply beautiful the way the emotional development keeps pace with the physical; they both care for each other so much, and you're written that in a delicate but very real way. I really like this Remus, so full of hope, and I'm sorry to think about the future events that will make him lose that for a time.

I'll echo patriot_jackie and say that I thought the descriptions were lovely, and really made the setting come to life, too. I'd love to stay in that room and have that view! ;)

Thank you very much! I'm so pleased you found it a satisfying conclusion to the story. I suppose where they ended up was rather inevitable but I'm glad to hear that there was a sense of anxiety along the way. I think it's probably the most explicit thing I've written and I nearly backed out on a couple of occasions because it is so very tricky to keep the balance of the emotional and the physical, so I'm very glad you thought that worked. As for Remus' hope, I've had that first big angsty scene in my mind for a long time now, and in my new state of freedom in thinking of this as a series (thanks, in part, to your help) I may tackle that after I do the first meeting fic.

If you ever have the occasion to visit Wales, I'll give you the name and address of the pink hotel and you can check it out for yourself and see if my descriptions do it justice. ;)

Thank you so very much for following the fic and always leaving such lovely reviews. :)

Aww, thank you! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to writing more in this 'verse, too. I've started the next one, but I doubt I'll be able to get it finished before the metamorfic_moon event kicks off but I hope it won't be too long. The pink hotel is well worth a visit if you're ever in north Wales! Thanks again. :)
