hooray! i am now semi-officially a pastry prep "chef" for a coffee company in freighthouse square! i am going to sign paperwork and learn my duties [heh] today, but from what i understand i get to mix and make lots of muffins and croissants and such and then freeze them. not actually bake them. but perhaps i can sneak away goodies for lucky, soon-

long- term leases are the bane of my existence, too. we want an apartment with a 3 month lease, but every listing says 6, 9 , or 12 months.

i hope there is some way you can sign the lease over to someone else, or something. because thats a long time to live with him unless you can be friends, but it sounds like something rough happened that would make that even harder than usual. ( not that i've ever even seen any of my ex-types ,after the fact. they just disappear.)

on the plus side, i hope you new job is delicious and fun.
