Application Guide

Personality:

For personality sections we're looking for key traits that define the character as that specific character; things that make them a unique individual. Personality traits include things like: if they're aggressive or a pushover, extrovert or introvert, orderly, open about feelings or closed, egocentric, creative, trusting or untrusting, sociable or a loner. We're looking for both the positive and negative side of their personality, do they have a bad temper? Are they terrified of something to the point of it being a phobia?

Basically we want to be able to tell that you get what the motivations are behind their actions.

First Person Sample:

The First Person Sample can be: audio, video, or simple text. We're looking for a good demonstration of how the character talks, what their sentence structure is like (if they have a unique pattern), and how you intend to play them interacting with others.

We suggest using something other than the typical “just arrived here, where am I?” sample, sometimes it's hard to really tell much about the voice of a character from something so general. You're free to use it if you feel you can properly capture their voice, but if you don't think you can, you're free to make anything up. You can assume they've been in the Underworld for a bit now and are commenting on an event that's happened, or take a past event and write an entry with your character experiencing that.

You're also free to re-use samples from other RP's.

Third Person Sample:

The Third Person Sample should be formatted in prose form, like you'll be using in the logs community. It should give a good insight into their inner workings, how they think and what their thought process is like. We're looking for introspection here, at least three paragraphs. (A paragraph is 7-10 good, though out, sentences.)

How do you go about reviewing apps?

Each mod reads the app and then we discuss what we think about the app together, this includes: what parts we like, what parts we think don't mesh, and a final vote. Once that's done with either approve, reject, or ask for revisions.

Revisions:

Revisions are usually requested if there are two or less sections in an app that we're wavering on. Reasons for a revision request could include (but are not limited to): contradictions in sections, uncertainty about voice, or missing parts of a personality. If we're uncertain about more than two sections, then the app will more than likely be rejected.
