Explain how that makes absolutely any sense at all, because I'm trying to make some of it, but it's not seeming very possible right now.

Yes, votes count, not as much as they should though. The popularity vote goes toward one candidate giving him all of our states electoral votes, which is kinda dumb, but is also why Utah is trying to pass a proposal allowing the percentage of votes for the candidate to be used that way in the electoral college (Meaning if one candidate gets 75% of the votes, 75% of the electoral votes will go toward that candidate and the other 25% will go toward the other candidate). So hopefully that will be passed and spread to other states.
