"Really Mikuru," Lyner frowned, helping her out of a spring. "You should be more careful. I know that you were trying to make sure Piro-pin didn't fall in, but that doesn't mean you should do it instead."
Sobbing, Mikuru crawled the rest of the way onto dry land. Shivering, she quickly scanned the area to make sure the Heartless wasn't drowning in another part of the hot spring.
"Are you listening? You could have gotten hurt if I wasn't here," he continued. Although that wouldn't be anything new; it seemed like he spent more time saving her than having a normal conversation with the girl. It wasn't that he minded going through the trouble of rescuing her-- he was glad to help anytime. But you'd think that she would learn not to run so blindly after her little pet.
"S-sor-achoo!"
His scowl instantly faded way into a small smile. Chuckling, he wrapped his cloak around her shoulders. Some things realy did never change.
She had told herself that she could do it. The entire scene had been played dozens of times in her mind. She would go up to someone and say hello, and the person realize that she wasn't that weird, and they'd go out and play. The only thing that changed in the scenario was the place. One day, it'd be by the beach and the next at a festival. No matter what they did though, they always had the time of their lives and promised to be best friends for life

Katara watched, her head resting against her palms, as her roommate proceeded to tear the headquarters apart. It was a huge shock to wake up to-- usually Ruby would become hysterical if she tracked a little bit of dirt in. And they think that I'm like a mom, she sighed. After a few minutes of simply staring as he attempted to lift up the furniture, she decided that enough was enough.
"What exactly are you doing?" Katara called out, beginning to make her way towards the younger boy.
"I lost them! I can't believe this... How can I lose them? This is horrible! Horrific

She didn't expect to be mobbed on her birthday. In fact, Amu had carefully avoided ever mentioning the date to anyone. The very last thing she wanted was a huge party-- which was exactly what she got. The sly smile Nadeshiko wore made it obvious who had planned it all out. She really had to stop underestimating the other Guardians

It took him two years on the island to confess to her. Of course, he had tried many times before, but it seemed like there was some other force out there that wanted things to be difficult. So the day when he finally said the words, while she was awake, the force struck again. Amu didn't believe him; she told him to stop joking around, and that he was just trying to get out of playing for her again.
It didn't surprise him. Instead of pressing the matter on, he simply picked up his violin and poured his heart out into his music. At times, it felt like the only way to effectively communicate what he felt to the girl-- she was too obvious for her own good. At first it was a trait that he really liked, but now it was a bit frustrating.
It took him five years on the island to confess again. She was surprised at first, extremely flustered, but she brushed him off again. Amu knew that he had recently taken Darry out on a date-- which he protested and said it wasn't a date date, but a friends one-- and told him to stop kidding around. It

The only sound that was the quiet rustling of paper as the Persocom carefully turned a page, and the hushed breathing of the one who sat beside her. Every now and then, she'd nudge his leg, pointing at a particular spot in the text she was reading. He would quickly scan it and answer with a proud smile. Anyone who passed by would wonder why they weren't talking, but to them it was a normal form of communication-- her reading, and him acknowledging it.
"Riku," she set the book down beside her. "Do you miss your home?"
He was used to this question. After being trapped on the island for over ten years, it was a topic that showed up frequently in conversations. "Yeah, I do."
Chii gave a nod in recognition. "Would you... like to go home?"
Another question that always showed up at some point. Usually, Riku would brush it off, saying something along the lines of Of course I want to leave, I hate this rock, but the blonde's intense gaze made him decide not to. She wasn't like the others on the island; he couldn't say something like that
