[ lifts his eyes back up to Charles's face, a certain drag to his gaze ]

*meets his eyes squarely, thumb rubbing absently over the faint, fading scar left by a deep scrape on his index finger*

I've been keeping myself busy over the past few weeks, after all.

So we can, what? [ holds out a hand for one of Charles's ] Progress?

*takes his hand firmly*

Yes. No matter how small it may seem at the moment.

[ presses his lips to fingers ]

It's not for us, Charles.

*holding tightly*

I'm afraid that I'm more demanding than you are.

[ laughs somewhat brokenly, a sharp exhalation against Charles's knuckles, while leaning down to brace his free hand on the arm of the wheelchair ]

*reaches up with his other hand to pull Erik down the rest of the way, and the angle is so awkward and their joined hands are an obstruction and absolutely nothing is as it should be -- but he doesn't even care, he finds him anyways*
