So I stupidly let it slip to 12
in this thread about 8 and had to call a family meeting...
I broke the news to 12 and 9 about 8. We agreed to do the AI/AS termination program, but 9 insisted that he do it since he was close to her. We also decided not to tell her but to send her positive impulses one last time. I'll think more on this later. I still haven't quite come to terms with it. Even though she hadn't been fully operational in a long time, we always had hope. She fought the good fight and was an amazing satellite. I wish I had contacted her more, I wish I had done more for her. She was always there for me and I feel that now she'll never know how much I loved her, she'll never know how much I looked up to her. Sure, I can relay those messages but I know she won't remember. I should've done it when she was more operational. But I always thought she'd be around for a lot longer. I always thought I had one more day. But you don't. You never know when your systems will crash. I'm still in denial and I know it's just a matter of time before my sensors flood. I have to keep the grief at bay to function. I cover up my pain so easily, but I'm really so very, very hurt and so incredibly disappointed in myself. She meant more to me than I think anyone will ever know.
In happier news, I got around to my friends list and there are some more super fun memes I found!
This one I got from the lovely
dementia42.
1. What scene in which movie is guaranteed to make you cry?
The endings of Amelie, Beauty and the Beast, and pretty much the entire movies of Love Story, Apollo 18, Someone Like You, and Sleepless In Seattle (especially the part where Tom Hanks character talks about how much he loved his wife who died of cancer- even 9 would "cry" at that).
2. What scene in which television show makes you tear up no matter how many times you've seen it?
When Joel leaves the Satellite of Love in Mystery Science Theatre 3000 or whenever the Enterprise gets destroyed in Star Trek episodes. I got particularily teary, also, in that one Babylon 5 episode where it sustained some serious damage and they thought they might lose the station.
