Atlantic Action!

Jul 31, 2004 19:10

As you all may, or may not know, we have our first official Atlantic tropical storm of the 2004 season.

Thanks to my co-workers and handlers at NOAA for posting my images for all to see.

Tropical Depression One is located about 175 miles SSE of Charleston, SC. It is expected to dance along the Carolina coast before being carried out into the Atlantic. TD1 has maximum sustained winds near 30 mph. Its barometric pressure is 1010 MB and it looks like it *might* develop overnight, though if you want this satellite's opinion I think it will barely graze storm status, if at all.

I've been keeping my proverbial eye on the African coast and have not seen any waves of note, but I'll let you guys know when I see one.

In the future, look for my own personal tracking and predictions.
