While I absolutely adore all Roald Dahl's works, Fantastic Mister Fox was always a fun one. This however seems to be an Ocean 11 mash up with the story which, I must admit looks funny, feels a little pushed to me. I think a direct adaptation would have been better.
Yet I still find myself very much excited. Especially how they made it! In a world of flawless 3D, stop motion is so lacking lately. But even this seems a little lacking compared to say Coraline; which somehow works. It makes the whole story still feel rustic, and old fashion despite all the catchy stuff happening.
I think they stole the blueberries idea from Danny, The Champion of the World because he and his father used the same technique to steal the pheasants. But still, a nice nod to the other movie!
