I'm constantly baffled by that double-standard... I suppose because it is perhaps the oldest drug ever ingested it earns some special mainstream acceptance. I've also heard about a very ancient opium tea that was used for millenia... we should try and bring THAT back... maybe we can get them to serve it at Firkins.
i just think it's fucked up that people think that they know what they want from a person, as if that's something that can come across in the records you listen to, the bars you like to drink at, the place you do your yoga, etc.
i wish that people would do something creative and instead of making a list of essential DO's and DONT's, they write some kind of essay about themselves, going into their thoughts and feelings about what they are searching for and why they chose this medium to make that happen.
some people do go there, and from what i've seen they are the most tragic. but i find truth in all of that nakedness and applaud them for their leap of faith. what's the worst thing that can happen? a million dull, superficial people won't contact you. best case, you make the connection you searched out.
