not sure if these posts are pointless, but if you need something to do thursday night, the show at the Rex is about the best jazz you'll ever see without going back in time. heavy, heavy, stuff. 200 people, beyond capacity, and all night you could hear a pin drop. hypnotizing musicianship.

my friend Michelle came over for dinner last night and records came up, mainly how good Beatles records sound compared to the cd's. she has a boyfriend.

as we walked up to my room she said one of the coolest things a girl has ever said to me. "can we listen to some vinyl?"

just in case someone's looking for a killer show Friday night.....Rich Brown's 'Rinse the Algorithm' is at the Rex starting at 9:30. Rich is one of Canada's best electric bass players, and one of my favourite in the world. straight up. and there will even be a keytar solo.....word.
