That really was beautiful. I just love the idea of the rest of the group finding out the full extent of what Erik meant to Charles, what they were to each other, only after the fact. And the way you did it was so perfectly logical (the kids getting the mansion ready to be the Institute we know it will become), yet subtle and quiet and heart-wrenching.

You just exactly captured all the adjustments, big and tiny, expected and unexpected, that occur after someone known and beloved is gone.
