He will come back. I know at least five people whose cats have gone missing for a while, including mine. Mine was only gone two days but sometimes they're gone for weeks and still come back. Cats are solitary animals sometimes, and they also get trapped in sheds etc. very often since they're so nosy to explore everything. Even pet places say they come back 90% of the time. Don't worry, if you gave it a good home it will come back.
