To prevent having to retcon her past here in the case that someone else apps and retcons Leon, his name was omitted from the backstory and "he" could be passed off as any past Zoology Teacher at SBG.

Name : Naval Piranha
Game/Series: Super Mario/Yoshi's Island
Age & Teaching Position: about half as old as Kamek maybe, but claims self as 35, Groundskeeper (okay so it's technically not a TEACHING position. You guys need a miscellany staff option.)
Living Arrangements: Dorm
Personality:
Naval is an easily-thrilled and sassy girl that doesn't hesitate to speak what's on her mind. For the most part, people see her as a metaphorical flower blooming with excitement even if it's unknown about her being sort of a literal flower. However, she is known to be serious when something really isn't right and can even get quite a temper when provoked. Even as a boss in the Koopa Army ordered to stop Yoshi, she wasn't the most serious-talker with her flirtatious-sounding taunts. he who didn't know she was originally a monster can be easily enticed into forming a communication link with her. It takes some others a bit of time to get over the giant piranha plant realization.
Naval was a less-than-perfect member of the Koopas as is, but since retiring and especially since being pulled into Final Destination City, she remained as a neutral figure between the forces of good and evil. She still honors Bowser (as well as Kamek) with great respect, but while she generally isn't a best friend of the Marios, she'll get along with the brothers themselves or any of the good guys as long as they don't jump on her face first for no apparent reason. There may be a little shame buried deep inside her subconscious about her not being such a sneaky lying cheating villainess anymore, and failing the two only missions she had, but she can still be mischievous now and then if she wants to! She may even joke about eating smaller people just to see them freak out!
Her friends, whether in or out of the Koopa Troop, she's very comfortable with and will do practically anything for them when the need arises. To her enemies, she'll still approach some with a smile while giving off sarcastic clues for them to go away, and to others, she'll try to approach them as professionally as sweet as possible, but nowadays it doesn't always stay that way after thirty seconds anymore.
And then there's Kamek, whom she had a high affinity for all these years. She'll look after him most of all... whether he likes it or not.
Backstory:
Naval started off as an everyday Piranha plant native to the jungles of Yoshi's Island with not much going on as far as piranha plants were concerned but that was okay! They had a castle to themselves almost completely flooded in water and the only critters that gave them any real problems were the Monkeys outside- always tossing things and spitting watermelon for kicks. There were also the yoshies but most she met were generally annoying derps to be around and they were a peaceful bunch anyway, unlike those monkeys. Naval stood as the castle's leader. She had a large room to herself deep in the basement that linked to the castle's moat so it was always filled with water. Being queen of the piranhas, however, didn't amount to much since they were just stationary plants with chomping jaws, so she didn't even have bragging rights and it didn't matter.
Many, many years ago she recieved a visit from a magikoopa named Kamek who asked her to get rid of a Yoshi problem for him for the sake of their young king Bowser. Before she could answer, however, A blue Yoshi also entered the room with a baby on his back and disrupted their conversation. Kamek went onto yelling at the intruders, "Give it up, Yoshi! You cutie without a naval! Ooopp- forget it..." and before Yoshi or Naval could even decipher that, Kamek flew over the plant, fluttering magic dust on her. She jumped into the water to wash it off, only to find herself transformed into a giant piranha monster with long, thorny tentacle vines. She went and used this new power to do as told: To get that Yoshi!
However, if it was any indication of a weak spot, She had a rather unsightly bump on her stem that could have been seen as an outward navel, and unfortunately, it carried over in her transformation that inevitably made it her obnoxiously stand-out weak point. The blue yoshi was able to ricochet eggs around to hurt her there and she fell in the end. Perhaps her name was a pun of her disadvantage, but it was more of a codename for the small bout of amphibious warfare she was assigned to. Prior to that, she was as nameless as most any Piranha plant.
Yoshi proceeded out of the castle with the baby and feeling terrible about the loss, she vineglomped Kamek apologetically, but given she was all spiky now, that didn't end well and it began the wizard's traumatic fear of vines. She never reverted to her previous form when he got away, but she became a prominent and somewhat more mobile figure to stick out as leader of the Yoshi's Island Piranha Plants.
After enough years pass to where Lord Bowser became an adult and ran a full-powered army under his own fist, Kamek came back to Naval again with a proposition towards island domination by the Koopa King. The wizard casted a spell over Yoshi's Island to cause an endless rainstorm that brainwashed the now-peaceful/retirede inhabitants into members of the Koopa Troop, and he enlisted Naval and Hookbill the Koopa to stop Yoshi from stopping these plans if he were to approach the Cavern of Darkness. Inevitably, Yoshi freed his friends and they all teamed together to save the day. Kamek fled immediately this time when he saw Naval upset again.
Fast forward to the start of the 2008 schoolyear at Sumabura Gakuen. The school was facing a bit of a budget crises and some of the labs began a phase to import specimens from Yoshi's Island due to their cheap shipping rates. The local Zoology teacher had his share of such specimens while the nearby Botany department had quite a hefty order of Piranha Plants. The professor met Naval at the recieving dock when picking up one of his own shipments, and being fascinated by her large thorny vines and vicious-looking fangs, he later stole her from her new home in the Botany lab. Having a love of sharp things, gardens, and discovering an eventual fascination of eloquance, Naval was like a feminine mirror of that professor himself, and she was made into his faithful assistant. Monetary payment for her work isn't possible as she remains as an illegal alien on Final Destination City grounds, but she was compensated by lessons in manners, fancy dinners, and other chances to live like a classy rich girl. Because he also temporarily taught humanization, she was able to obtain an expensive wand prop and learned it herself. It only fails for the fact that she turned into a green humanoid. Her typical outfit was a blue wizard robe because it reminded her of someone special. Maybe if she kept this form if they ever ran into each other again.... What are even the chances of that happening again?
Naval and the professor bonded pretty tightly professionally and personally, though they're not romantically involved nor have given themselves any change to explore on that (or maybe Naval's just a bit fixated on Kamek). He eventually had to leave for a complicated set of reasons, however, and she took off with him. She couldn't follow him everywhere, so after a while they parted from each other and she lived her own life in another city.
But there was one thing she always wanted to do: Return to the Smash school and have a real job there this time as a legal citizen. She would assist in Zoology again if that professor returned, but otherwise, looking at the school's landscaping when she went there to apply gave her a new goal to take on.
Anything Else?:
* Naval spends her time mostly in humanoid form, as her normal one is too large to fit in most indoor establishments. She appears rather green and similar to a Beanbean citizen, so she's often assumed to come from Beanbean as much as she's never been there before.
* Despite not working in the labs anymore, she still wears the old labcoat (sketch props to Kiz) to post everyday since she feels wierd to stop wearing it on school grounds, except now she wears it with spiked armbands.
* The whole vine-glomping bit is Raye's canon, so props to her, too!
* Kamek is a Faggot!
* SHE WILL NOT MOW THE LAWNS. It's cruel to the grass blades like decapitating people! Okay maybe if she's forced to, but she will cry and apologize every morning she has to do that.
