Let us go then, you and I

I've been doing this photo meme on Instagram (that I can only do because I have an ipad, not a fancy iphone like all you young whippersnappers - I still have an ancient flip phone that I love because I hate talking on the phone anyway) where you are given a prompt and take a picture a day.  I'm way too lazy to explain it in detail or post more ( Read more... )

I remember that mug! I'm so glad you use it and that it reminds you that I love you. That makes me ecstatic. And it has just made me realize I still have your gift sitting around here somewhere...

Wow. Can something still be called belated if it's over 2 MONTHS late? :P

I *love* it. I took it to work with me a lot when I was student teaching and one of my students asked if I knew the entire poem by heart and I was like YES!!! And then I said "er... no. Not the ENTIRE poem...." I've read it so many times I think I could *almost* do it by heart, though, just by reading the mug so much. It's really one of my most treasured possessions - I've been trying to drink tea at night to relax me to help with anxiety/OCD problems, and I try to put it in this mug 99% of the time or... whenever it is clean, lol - I use it A LOT.

You could never send me that gift and I would love it JUST as much. Honestly. The saying "it's the thought that matters" is kind of corny, and I've always scorned it. But I'm starting to realize that the *thought* is what matters. You could hit hard times and give that gift to another friend even if you mentioned it to me, and I would still feel fulfilled. And that's not me being all self-sacrificing or Christian-like or good-person-ish or any crap like that, either. I mean it.
