Character: Tinkerbell
Series: Peter Pan, Return to Neverland, Kingdom Hearts
Version: Both Peter Pan movies as well as her scenes in the KH games
Age: Unknown
Gender: Female
Appearance: Tinkerbell is a tiny fairy, barely more than five inches tall. She has bright blonde hair pulled up in a bun with heavy, slightly messy bangs over her forehead. Her ears are pointed at the top, elfin in shape. Her blue eyes are wide and almond-shaped, tilted up slightly at the corners and she has full, red lips.
Her wings are delicate, translucent things, shaped like the wings of a dragonfly. She wears a short, strapless green dress, the hem of the bodice and the edge of the skirt zig-zagged. She has an hour-glass figure with larger hips than she'd like. Her dainty feet are clad in little green slippers decorated with a white puff ball.
Tinkerbell has a constant golden glow around her and often sparkles with golden fairy dust when she moves.
Personality: Tinkerbell has the natural playful, mischievous energy of all fairies, made all the more pronounced by her time with Peter and the Lost Boys. She likes to have fun and she's not the most responsible of fairies, but she can get serious if the situation calls for it, especially if her friends are threatened. Passionate and a little reckless, she acts with her heart first and her head second. Despite a whole slew of flaws, however, Tink has a good heart and strong sense of loyalty. She will brave anything for the people she loves. Just because she's a few inches tall doesn't mean she won't try to punch you in the face!
Abilities/Weaponry/Strengths: The most notable strength that Tinkerbell possesses is her golden pixie dust. Anyone sprinkled with enough of it can fly as well, though only if they have genuinely happy thoughts. Inanimate objects can be made to fly as well if she uses enough pixie dust, though that's much harder to accomplish. Her own flight is expert and natural, speedy and dextrous.
In the Kingdom Hearts games, she can heal heroes for as long as they need her, using her fairy magic. She can also revive a person from death once.
Tinkerbell also has a natural propensity for, well, tinkering. She can build and create things to aid her in her small size, from tools to little fairy houses, as well as mend broken things. She's quite resourceful and clever when she puts her mind to it.
Weaknesses: If jealousy had fairy wings, it'd be called Tinkerbell. As Peter Pan's best friend and constant companion, she has a jealous streak a mile wide when it comes to girls getting close to her Peter and this tends to bring out the worst of her personality. She can be vindictive, petty and snobbish in turn, going out of her way to make any competition for Peter suffer. This is her biggest weakness and remains the easiest thing to exploit her with.
She also has a short temper, is short-sighted and...is short. Her small stature can get her into tight places just as well as it can help her and more than one animal/fish/bird has mistaken her for prey.
If a person tells Tink that they don't believe in fairies, her golden glow will begin to dim and she'll start dying slowly. The only way to fix her is for the original person to say they do believe in fairies.
She has a very difficult time flying in the rain.
History: Tinkerbell comes from Neverland, an enchanted other world full of pirates and treasure and magic. She's lived there with Peter Pan, the legendary boy who will never grow up, along with the Lost Boys, for a long time. Her days were spent faithfully following Peter, playing pranks on Captain Hook and generally just having fun. One day, however, she's captured by Hook and a boy named Terra tricks the old pirate into letting her go. When Ventus shows up in Neverland, he discovers that she's carrying the Starcrystal, an item his friend misplaced. Peter Pan makes her return it to him. After the trio of Aqua, Ventus and Terra leave, Tinkerbell is happy to go back to the way things were.
But then a certain English girl named Wendy interrupted Tink's blissful fun some years later, along with the girl's little brothers. If only Peter hadn't lost his mischievous shadow, they never would have gone down to the grown-up's world and met that meddling Wendy! Alas, Peter took Wendy and her brothers with them to Neverland for an experience of a lifetime.
While there, Sora, Donald and Goofy meet them in the hold of Hook's ship as Peter and Tink are searching for Wendy. Tinkerbell informs Peter that she's found the girl, though her jealousy is made plain, much to Donald's amusement. After helping the trio escape using her pixie dust, Tink is left with Sora as Peter flies off with Wendy. Hook captures Tinkerbell in a lantern and demands Sora's keyblade for her life, but Sora walks the plank instead and flies due to his happy thoughts. He rescues Tinkerbell from Smee's clutches and, once Hook is defeated, flies back to London with Peter Tink's help to seal the keyhole in Big Ben. From then on, Tink is happy to accompany Sora in his journey as a useful summon.
When Roxas came to Neverland, Tinkerbell asked him for help in stopping yet another dastardly scheme of Hook's. Granting Roxas the ability to fly with her pixie dust, she lead the way to Hook's ship...but Roxas didn't follow her. It was only when Roxas came again to Neverland with Axel that she was able to see him again, much to her obvious anger. Again she tried to convince Roxas to follow her, and it seemed he might, but Roxas was stopped by Axel to continue their original mission. A few days later, when Roxas returns to Neverland, he catches sight of Tinkerbell being captured by Hook and finally decides to hold off on his mission to help her. He sneaks into Hook's ship and into his cabin, releasing Tinkerbell from the lantern she was trapped in. She shows him a piece of torn map with a circle drawn on it and, after Roxas' request, grants him the ability to fly again. She then escapes the ship while Roxas continues to investigate the unknown Heartless threat. The next day, Tink appears to help Roxas fly once more and defeat The Ruler of the Sky, a giant Heartless. Defeated, it crashes into Hook's ship to the great enjoyment of Tinkerbell.
Though the time in Neverland passes on its own terms, Wendy grew up in London and had children of her own -- a playful little boy named Danny and a serious, practical girl named Jane. The Blitz of World War II has made Jane lose her playful love and belief in Peter Pan and in faith, trust and pixie dust. After a terrible fight with her little brother, Jane falls asleep at her window crying...only to be kidnapped by Hook and his men, believing her to be Wendy. Peter and Tinkerbell rescue Jane once they arrive in Neverland, though they are both shocked that she isn't Wendy. They are further shocked by her grown up, serious personality. Jane holds no interest in Neverland, insisting that she has to go home, so she can protect her mother and brother as her father told her to. Unfortunately, the only way to go home is to fly and Jane, unable to have the necessary happy thoughts, can't seem to get off the ground.
Through this all, Tinkerbell fumes over Peter's attention to Jane, hoping to sabotage her every chance she gets. She's more than willing to help Jane get home as it'll mean she'll be rid of the girl Peter continually ignores her for. The disparate personalities of Jane and Peter come to head, however, when Peter plays keep away with Jane's precious notebook. In a fit of anger, Jane tells them all that she doesn't believe in any of this and especially doesn't believe in fairies. This causes Tinkerbell's energy to rapidly decline and her glow begins to fade. Peter and the Lost Boys vow to make Jane believe in fairies and they fly off to find her.
Jane inadvertently betrays Peter due to Hook's manipulations and when she finds out that Tinkerbell is dying, she runs back to the hollow that Peter and Tink live in. Just when it appears that she's too late and that the little pixie is dead, Jane's belief and sorrow reach Tinkerbell and she revives. Together, they fly off to Hook's ship to rescue Peter from a briny death and they all defeat Hook once more. Tinkerbell is friendly with Jane and is sad to see her return home but knows she must. After a touching reunion with the adult Wendy, Tinkerbell and Peter return to Neverland as a changed Jane tells her little brother all about her wonderful adventure in Neverland.
