Friday night's all right for vampires

There is a new teevee show I love that I'm actually not ashamed to tout.  Yeah, it's my new obsession, meaning I spent all last night re-watching the 4 episodes that are available on CBS's website -- unfortunately the first episode is MIA.

The show is Moonlight.   It's on Friday night, a good night for obsessive fandoms (ref: The X-Files).  A hunky ( Read more... )

Yes, it is. "Moonlight" followed by "Numbers" makes for a good Froday night!

The first episode was a little lame, but it's getting waaay better plot-wise. It's not a 'demon of the week' type show, in fact no demons at all. Each episode so far has had a self-contained story line, but the Mick-Beth-Josh triangle is an ongoing development.

Gosh darnit, still have to get through today AND tomorrow AND Froday before it's Froday night! :-)

Of course I meant FROday. D'oh!

Seriously, I haven't felt this giddy since being smitten by Frolijah.

I've heard people talk about this show--but I thought it might be just a re-done Angel concept (I like Buffy and Angel very much). But I'd like to have something to sink into on Friday nights now and again, so I'm glad to hear you like it so. Thanks for the rec!!!!

(PS--we're doing well on our health care project!! I'll update in a bit, but the report has gone to layout, and we are to meet with some of the governor's policy advisors, I hope in the next few weeks...thank you for your previous encouragement!)

I'm also a huge Buffy fan. Angel was a little too dark for me sometimes. I just read that the producer who revamped (pun intended!) Moonlight before it went on the air was none other than David Greenwalt, who also was involved in Buffy and Angel ( ... )

Honestly, I haven't felt this way since discovering Frolijah.

Well, that certainly was a good enough recommendation for me!!! And yet have I seen it yet? No. I have actually tuned in to try to watch this show the last couple of weeks, and what do you know? Visitors showed up the first week. And then I got a call from someone who "needed to talk" this past Friday. Maybe better luck next time? We'll see.

Jason Dohring (is that how you spell his name?) is in this, isn't he? I watched the first couple seasons of Veronica Mars with my daughter. He was pretty cute in that show.

Yes, I hope the writer's strike ends quickly and they get a good contract. The strike will especially be bad for new shows, I would think.

Don't you just hate when your plans for the evening are upset by the phone or the doorbell? I hide from the world when I am looking forward to watching something special (doesn't happen very often, but when it does, everyone stay away!)

Most of the season so far can be viewed at CBS.com. Except for the pilot, which mysteriously is not up at their website. It's one of those shows that is best watched sequentially, because the story develops each week.

Yes, Jason Dohring was Logan on Veronica Mars. He is delicious in this show as Josef, a thoroughly modern 400-year-old vampire and Mick's friend and confidant. He relishes his vampireness, while Mick has serious issues with being a vampire.
