To show that my disgust with politicians is not confined entirely to one side of the great divide, I present as evidence this link to a David Brooks column skewering the gasbags on both sides of the Senate aisle.   Normally, I don't like Brooks, who is way too Mr. Conservative for my taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed this pitch-perfect mockery of our ( Read more... )

Grrr... you need to be logged in. I have to admit, my disgust with politicians tends to be very much confined to one side of the divide - though we have our share of 'winners' too.

Ah, the NY Times requires log-in? I'll repost using the time-honored copy-and-paste method. The column struck my funnybone because Alan and I had exactly the same sort of conversation about the Roberts hearings that very morning at breakfast. "These guys all take a half hour to ask a question because they're all so in love with the sound of their own voices" etc.

give BugMeNot a try -- they provide usernames and passwords to sites like NYTimes so you don't have to go through the asshattery that registering entails :D
