However, I doubt there is much patriotism in a place like Romania.

Romanians are fierce patriots actually. Romania has quite a lot to offer a young man such as yourself. However how you wish to gain something from Romania is your choice.

Is this true? Perhaps I shall see a waving flag or two, but I doubt there is much reason to be patriotic.
