Whoa this is definitely my record for time between posts. I've been doing a severe amount of Adult-ing lately I suppose, maybe that's why. I am jealous of your hot actor talkathon and I don't even know who it is.

Being an adult is hard. Basically the bills part. Ugh. Also, not getting to say what you really want to say for fear of getting fired.

People share way too much on facebook. I just share cat pictures.

YES - I think just sharing cat pictures is THE most rational use of social media. I know waaaay too much about waaay too many people I know now :(

And bills and not getting fired are way too hard. When kids complain about school and their lives I'm like.. wait for bills. Just wait. (But I don't say that out loud coz they'd never get it which is fair)

Oh god I'm jealous of the talkathon too - It was actually like a scene from a movie. It's kinda sad to think it goes no further but in the same way maybe it's kinda perfect *because* it doesn't?

Yup, social media in general definitely makes it easier for some to show too much of their true selves. I have a few times read a tweet from someone and thought, "Ugh. I wish you hadn't posted that, because now I can't think of you as I used to." Why do people have to over-share and shatter our illusions? I'd much rather not know everything about everyone, haha!

I definitely prefer not knowing everything about everyone, prefer the mystery! And absolutely one tweet can mess up my opinion of them - like from years ago - I still remember lol. I'm like.. oh he seems nice now but still... that one political rant from 2010.... haha :)

In my phone there's just so many lines shown in the feed filter and you have to click on someone's post if you want to read more of it. So here I am reading the feed of your post and it cuts off right where you say you are busy designing....

...what? new cliffhangers was my guess! LOL! It would be so like you.

How nice to see you on LJ again! I was just re-reading Come Undone and Between the Shadow and the Soul and was wondering about you. Sounds like life is going well. If you're feeling old and boring, there's nothing like a little LJ and fandom to take the edge off. :)

So, this is just a random stalker-type, but I just read Between the Shadow and the Soul on portkey, commented, and wandered around the internets until I found you here. All really just to say how much I loved that. Because I really, really did.
I'll probably post it on my keep-track-of-stories-I-like-tumblr [crystalicitylikesfics] (honestly, the only reason I didn't already is because I like to tag the authors if they have a tumblr. Well. And the fact that I'm lazy when coming up with tags.) But anyway. I'm rambling for no reason.
I'm one of the trolls that read a million fics and rarely comment, so I guess I just wanted to emphasize how much I liked that fic, I guess? Wow. Super rambles.
but anyway.
(I should probably also be almost polite and comment on your actual post as well... Adulting SUCKS. For real. I'm currently failing horribly. Hence the unceasing fanfic consumption. So I can pretend adulting doesn't exist.)

Hey thanks so much for the feedback on Between the Shadow and the Soul - I totally love that you don't comment often but you made the effort to find me to say that - truly does make my day. I don't spend enough time on LJ now (too much stupid adulting) but coming back to this makes me want to remember to come back more :) I don't have a tumblr really (I lurk sorta) but would be more than happy for you to post it -and will come check out your recs too :)
