If they are zombies, which I seriously doubt, despite having been there and seen said "zombies", I think you have the right way of going about it. Some people are getting over excited and thinking their life is now some some survival horror video game.
Some of them might need to learn the hard way, though. By experience. It's an unfortunate truth.
It's pointless to detain people who think they're doing something useful. They'll only find a way to get out. The key is to get the job done before they can do anything more stupid to screw you up.
They might think that. They'd be wrong. But I don't really care about what they think. I'd rather keep them alive or at the very least keep them from hacking the limbs of some unlucky SOB with a bad cold.
{There's nothing I can do about that. If I could make it so that people never had to fight again, I would. But, you know, shit happens and someone has to clean it up.}
Aliens work. I've fought aliens myself. Point is, you've got experience beyond the plane of what most people consider "normal" or "possible." And that's what we're looking for.
