::The first thing she's aware of is pain. A steady, throbbing ache that makes her squint her eyes tighter closed and turn her head toward the warmth beside her. Then there's a voice and she makes a mumbled sound of protest to the thought of opening her eyes. But the gentle coaxing convinces her to comply, and she winces slightly as the faint light intensifies the lingering pain in her head.::

Anissina... ::She echoes the name with a quiet sigh.:: That's pretty. ::She's having trouble keeping her eyes open, but the thought of the darkness that waits for her should she close them fills her with a strange sort of fear. So she forces herself to try and focus on the face above hers, which seems fuzzy around the edges.::

Slowly, her expression turns to distressed alarm as she realizes that she can remember nothing of what's led her to this moment. She can't stop the sudden, helpless tears that fill her eyes and she swallows hard against nausea. Her hand rises thoughtlessly to push back her hair, and she feels the sticky, almost-dry blood that clings to the strands. Panic begins to fill her, rising with the dull pounding of her head, and she turns a frantic appeal on Anissina, looking almost child-like in her wide-eyed fear.:: I can't remember anything. Why? Why can't I remember?
