A rivalry goes so deep...

...between me and this loss of sleep over you.I haven't been able to sleep this week. I don't know if it's because my hotel room is so cold, or because I have so much else on my mind, but I have not been sleeping well. I think I might be getting back into my old "school" habits of staying up until 3 or 4 and then crashing until 8 - only now, it's 6 ( Read more... )

I don't think you should take the KPMG job because you don't really really want to do it. Don't settle!! Gosh I sound like Mom don't I? But seriously, I plan on finding something I love to do, probably easier said than done, but GOW I'm so soft. LOVE YOU!

Ohhhhh Es. That is MUCH easier said than done I think. I'm going to be checking out record labels and service jobs and whatnot hardcore over the next few weeks, so let me know if there's a job you think I would be good at and also like. I'll be thinking of the same for you :) Love you more, -starr.

You can work in Chicago without working for KPMG. If you want.

I think that's what I'm going to try to do. But I'm not sure yet. I don't want to wind up hating my life in 30 years like SOME PEOPLE I know (*cough, cough, Daddy!*). Sounds like things are looking up though :) XOXO.

Tell them you are not sure, and ask if there would still be a job there in the future, like after you try out a year of service or something else you think you might enjoy more. If they want you, they will wait a year for you.

Love,

Jerrod

ROD! I am so excited that you read my LJ. :) Hope you had a fun weekend in Chicago. And I am thinking about "deferring" my job here too. Am going to think more about it...

P.S. my loft misses you.

so i read this entry once before and somehow managed to miss seeing my name at the end. but i just caught it scrolling down my friends page again, so here are my two cents... don't take a job that you don't want just so you'll have a "real" job. i think you should definitely do a year of service. it will give you some time to figure out what you really want to do (like me knowing for sure i want to do civil rights/public interest law) and it's a really great experience. vista has a ton of programs in chicago, so if you love chicago (which is totally understandable. i kind of wish i'd looked for programs in chicago since cinci kind of sucks.), look for a program there. and there are other programs besides americorps that would give you the same type of opportunities (usually through religious volunteer programs. the catholics probably have something. i know there's a lutheran volunteer corps). i'm not going to lie, i've had some boring days spent reading ljs and writing e-mails, but i've also gotten to go under bridges and meet people ( ... )

the catholics do have something... it's the jesuit volunteer corps. angie's fiancee did that.

also, don't take a crappy job just because you need health insurance, like some people i know... and if you stay in chicago, maybe i'll go to school there, and then we can be roommies... man, how messy would that apt. be?

okay, time for me to get back to the exciting world of data entry and looking up stuff on the internet... woohoo!
