Arrived

Just thought I would let everyone know that I have arrived safely in the US. I probably should have posted this a bit earlier but I got a bit side tracked with the parents. Anyway, so far it hasn't been too bad. My visa app has been sent out and will hopefully let me stay in the UK for another 3 years. Andy seems to like the US. We went to New York ( Read more... )

Good to hear you arrived safely onto this side of the pond. I'll see you/talk to you after I get out of WV. I'm often on the road now-a-days. Just ask Heather, Ben and Tim.

Haha, he speaks the truth!

Homecoming is this weekend at Etown! Beth will be here for that, but she and Tim will be at the wedding on Sunday, so you should definitely come Saturday if you come this weekend.

I'm not sure if you'll be here that long, but next weekend we're "sort-of kind-of maybe" planning a trip to the Ren Faire.

Why in the world can you not drink milk??? Is there no milk in England? Was it mad cow disease? DAMN THOSE MAD COWS!!!

Oh cool. I forgot about homecoming. I am not sure if I can make it down for homecoming unless there would be a place for Mendel, Andy and myself to stay for that night. Next weekend unfortunately I have to be back home since that is when my dad has decided Andy should meet his side of the family. *sigh* We would much prefer to go to the Renn Faire.
As for the milk, I think it might be something in the US milk. I'm fine with the stuff in the UK, but the stuff in the US bothers me. Unfortunately since I can't avoid it I drink it anyway. I think it might be a difference in what the cows are fed. Not sure though.

With regards to a HersheyPark trip:

I don't have the means to get anyone else in since it's the off-season, and I can't get in (for free) myself before I get my badge back.

They're doing a different ticketing system this year that more matches their summer policy. (So no more wristband/pay-per-ride, it's one mandatory admission that covers everything - $22/person). Unfortunately with my schedule, I couldn't go unless it was on a Friday night, (or perhaps Sunday, after the wedding?)

Also - if either of you doesn't do rollercoasters, there won't be that much for you to do.
