Mazel tov!

I honestly and truly suggest eloping, or having a very small private ceremony.
...Buuuuut not many people like hearing that.

So my advice is twofold:
-Do what makes you and Andy happy. Don't change things or even bend things to please other people (coughPARENTScough).
-Involve your mother as little as possible. You will retain more sanity this way.

Also also also-- if you decide to not-elope, treat yourself to a massage (and/or a pedicure, if that's your thing) a couple of days before the wedding. It's the most relaxing thing you'll do all week.

Yes, I think we are certainly going to have a small private-ish wedding and we are going to be putting our collective feet down and getting our way. I do want to have something in the US for everyone who cannot attend the wedding. It will probably be similar to the picnic that you two had.

Thank you everyone! I do want to have a reception in the US in addition to the wedding here. That way if you cannot make it for the wedding here you can still celebrate with us.
