Going back in time: Icons from 2005-2009
I saw dekolette doing this, and because I think it's fun I decided to do it myself.
So here are icons from 2005 till 2009. The post contains 130 icons
2005
Oh boy... I don't even know what do say about these. The quality totally sucks, use of text, line and textures is horrible.
But I can exactly remember how proud I was of a few of those icons then ;)
2006
ugh still horrible... only in the last 6 icons you can slowly see an improvement in cropping, coloring and quality.
2007
2007 was my year! I think I found my style then. Textless icons, special cropping.
Those two Sawyer icons at the end are still two of my best icons ever.
I still like most of the 2007 icons.
2008
I didn't made a lot of icons in 2008, so only 20 here.
But still, the quality is nearly the same as in the end of 2007, maybe a little improvement. I did more with textures and negative space.
I specially adore the Lost icons, I think I never made such good Lost again, like I made them in late 2007 and 2008.
2009
2009 was a weird year. I think I could mostly maintain the level from 2008, but sometimes I felt like I tried to hard to make good icons. While I was going through the icons of 2009 I didn't like a lot them anymore.
It's hard to see that it seems that I made backspace compared to late 2007 and 2008. I hope I'll find my way back in 2010.
