Phone tech support scam?

My Dad just mentioned that he's gotten two phone calls in the last week, with a live person on the other end: "Hello we've detected that your Windows operating system has encountered a problem"

My Dad's answer: "I have a Mac"

Other end of the line "click!"

Hmm. Yeah, I bet if you stay on the line they try to get you to install a Helpful Security Program from their site...

I'm impressed they're taking it that far.

Thanks for the warning. If I happen to get a call from these guys I'll fuck with them to see how long I can keep them on the phone by making them troubleshoot my computer.

"You want me to go to www.spaminhell.com. OK... No wait it says this website cannot be displayed." I'll also be sure to ask where the ANY key is, etc...
