Grit your teeth and do it - you can't escape it and it's more hassle than $25 is worth to try and avoid it.

*hugs lots* Just the rabies shot, then. It's odd that a town as rural as yours is bothering with laws like that. That's something I thought was mostly restricted to suburbia.

Cuprohastes is right, though, just knuckle under and do it. Go to a different vet if you can. I'm not sure if I'd trust them after the last time. :(

Rabies vaccination is usually mandated by state law, though enforcement is left to the individual counties. License fees vary wildly, from as little as $5 to a hundred or more.

My very serious advice: Get the rabies shot and the license
