Familial Parings vs. Non-familial Pairings

A common theme in pairings, and in some cases, pairing debates, are sibling-esque pairings. I agree with most everything you put except saying that Orihime treats Ichigo similar to how she treated Sora. How did you get around to making that comparision, might I ask?

Because the way that Orihime treated Sora was very ambiguous, and therefore we can't see how she would treat her siblings. I mostly view it as a nonfamilial relationship, but Orihime's personality and our little knowledge of her family life overcasts that in a way. Both Sora and Ichigo were very protective of her, and she in turn reciprocates. As a result, it's one of the most ambiguous pairings, so I didn't really want to categorize it, (with the addition of Ichigo's almost always familial relationships and orihime's almost alway's non-familial) but I can see the connection some take to them being like siblings, while not agreeing.
