So, in Geography class we had to watch a "docudrama" on the life of Charles Darwin. *gags* I really did prefer talking about the atmosphere.. now that we're talking about the biosphere and the age of the Earth, it just keeps getting more and more disgusting. What is so funny is that the theory of evolution as presently taught was opposed by one particular critic... Charles Darwin. Although Darwin took his theories far further than "intelligent design and adaptation" theorists are willing to go (Darwin said humans may have evolved from apes, while intelligent design and adaptation theorists say "evolution" is largely across a genus, not among families or higher classification groups), he opposed the idea of that all beings appeared from amino acids in the atmosphere formed by bolts of lightning, as evolutionary scientists now say. Darwin was originally a theology scholar... and never completely discarded those views, unlike many modern scientists, who claim that scientific truth somehow can only be reached by discarding religion. To these people, bring up the following point: "How is your search for the truth completely free and unhindered when you assume in all of your theories that God does not exist?" That'll keep them thinking for a while.

May I inquire... who is your teacher? My geography teacher is pretty biased as well, but he is fairly subtle about it... How frustrating. (Not that anyone is completely unbiased.)
I hope you do not have to write about it on your final either. ;)
