I went to see Avatar (James Cameron's) today in 3D, extended edition which gave me the opportunity to see it for the first time and I must say I was impressed but I'll say more of it in the cut for those of you who haven't seen that yet
First thing first, I was very very impressed with the 3D though some parts of the movie weren't really needed in 3D. I understand that it would have been more difficult to play some parts in 2D and some in 3D though so I'll discard that. Some parts really marked me, including the first time Jake is alone in the forest, with all the plants shinning around, it was just marvelous. The hunting part was also very impressive, and I remember that, at one point, one of the "horse" rider throws a spear with bounces off the beast's hide and right back in our face, it startled me, I thought it was going right in my eyes XD
The story, of course, isn't that special, it's more or less Pocahontas in a more mature was and I've been warned that it was simple but the setting was really awesome and made it worth the money spent. As for the extension, I can't really tell since I haven't seen the first version. I've been told it makes more sense but I can't really say anything.
That's all I have to say about it but I really enjoyed my time and I'd advise anyone who haven't seen the movie to do it now for the extended edition, you won't regret the journey to Pandora :)
