Does anybody know if there is a studio version of Sartorius available anywhere? It's such a beautiful song!

I think it's famous for not having a studio version.

There's a Goldfrapp video podcast you can subscribe to through iTunes...however, it's pretty old, and it looks like only one episode was produced. (At least, iTunes is only showing one. They could have an outdated feed.)

They answered questions from fans, and one of the questions they were asked was whether there were plans to release studio versions of the b-sides from the Felt Mountain concerts on a future album. Alison mostly talked about how they were written as filler because Felt Mountain didn't have enough material to fill a concert's time. Apparently Alison & Will loved them at first...and then realized that they were "awful." It seems like they think of Little Death and Sartorius as skeletons in a closet, and they never want to speak about them again. =/

It sucks, because it seems like a lot of people love both of them. Maybe they'll reconsider in the future...

huh, that's interesting, thanks for sharing.

at least we have high quality live versions of "sartorius" and "little death"... ok, maybe there isn't a decent quality version of "fondue knights," but eh, that one was kinda crap actually, so whatever.

No problem. :)

I've actually never heard Fondue Knights, but I've been wondering about it for awhile. Is it really that bad?

Fondue Knights isn't that bad in my opinion... but it's not that great either I guess... :/

the closest they ever did was release videos of them performing the song--as part of the shepherd's bush concert on the wonderful electric dvd, and individual bonus videos from the 2001 st. malo's concert on certain singles (the US black cherry maxi single and the 2004 UK strict machine single box set, to be precise).

i thought they had released it as an audio b-side on a few of the black cherry era singles, but all i could find poking around on goldfrapp.free.fr were those two singles that had it in video format...

The radio broadcast version's pretty studio-esque. Don't know if you have that one yet, but if not, here's a link: http://download.yousendit.com/4218E27801C2936E
