Story review - a crushing disappointment

Let me see that smile!
After several weeks of going to the dentist and getting extractions, fillings, a crown, and fittings, I finally got a new denture on Friday, and I can bite and chew again at last. Travel plans finalized
My travel plans have been finalized for this year's trip to America, and all the flights have been booked. Of course last year almost all my flights got changed either a little or a lot by the airlines, but barring that, here is my itinerary ( Read more... ) -

I ought to be committed
So I did. I committed myself to some travel dates for Anthrocon. I know I already missed out on the very cheapest tickets, and I had to make a decision before I missed out on others. Even so, I had to put my departure from Australia one day earlier from Saturday to Friday in order to save $662. I will probably lose a day's pay because of that, ( Read more... ) -

Safe so far
People have been remarking about the terrible bushfires that Australia has been experiencing, and wondering if I've been affected. So far the worst have been in New South Wales, although my state certainly has not been spared. Nothing has come even close to where I live as yet, unlike a couple of years ago. Mum's home
Mum is home now. We got the word about ten this morning that she would be ready to go home in about two hours, so dad and I timed it so we could pick her up at about midday. First we had to find her though. Turns out that she was taken to a transit lounge which was virtually at the opposite end of the building. And there we waited. And waited. ( Read more... ) -
Mother update
Visited mum in hospital today. She is doing fine, but she's likely to be there a couple more days as they do tests on her.
