it's over.

archie choosing veronica over betty solves the age old debate that has been rehashed many times, but has always been the same. this is like a math problem with an X in it, and after about 20 years, finding out what X is.

if i remember correctly, and don't quote me on this, i gave up on the x-men like a decade ago, but it was all like psy-sex or something, so i highly doubt that really counts, although jean grey flipped out over it.

yeah, i was always a stickler for the girl-next-door type, but proof is proof. looks like i need to stop pursuing the sweet and cute girls, and start prowling for materialistic bitches who want a doormat.

On the one hand, this seems like the reverse-gender version of women picking assholes over nice guys meme (for all the merits and flaws of that argument).

On the other hand, it is a comic, and thus it will not stick, even if it gets past this miniseries. The question is just a matter of how long until the status quo resets.

it resets when an uber-nerd like joss whedon gets wind of it, and decides to make something that ultimately is supposed to end with archie choosing betty over veronica, but being joss whedon, he won't be able to defy the laws of destiny, that, and he likes to piss off his "fans," in the end, veronica will still win.

No No No.. Joss will end up killing both of them and everyone will be shocked by the "twist".. because he never does things like that just because it is Tuesday..

Eh, it could just be part of ths storyline--proposing to one but then at the altar ditching the proposee for the initially jilted one.

Oh yeah, and I just thought of another one for you, this one kind of recent and video game related: Ayane > Kasumi

It's a comic book, so all this never happened and will be retconned by the newly announced "Archie : House of A" series.
