Purified Water

It has been hot all day, lingering in the hundreds. Now it's past midnight and it began raining, a downpour strong enough to drown out the sound of the TV that i keep on over my shoulder on nights like this. Now the air is cool outside, and everything smells like rain that has quickly evaporated on hot sidewalk
