Just writing to say that I hope everyone is having a good Christmas or whatever they celebrate or just a good day off, if that's what you do on December 25th. Christmas isn't terribly exciting for me because I've never celebrated Christmas, except that my dad usually cooks a lot (because there's nothing else to do) and we hope there's a good film ( Read more... )

I always thought that Silver Bells was called Silver Balls. Is it not?

Um No. It's about Silver Bells. Ring-a-linging.

It's about bells? How do you a ring-a-ling?

I think that only bells can ring-a-ling. It's a bell-specific thing.

Well, I don't know if this is the right thing to do, but I hope you're having a very nice Hannukah even if it's a little tiring by the third day. And I didn't know that about Christmas songs! That's all very interesting.

Also, sorry about not writing back to you yet about that lovely birthday card you sent me, and the presents -- thank you for being so thoughtful and sweet, Anthony. I just lost track of things over the last two days, sorry.

Why wouldn't it be the right thing to do? If I can say "Merry Christmas," you can say "Happy Hanukkah." But regardless, usually I think that being eight days long is a plus side to Hanukkah over Christmas, but this year it just feels like it's dragging on forever. And today is Christmas so there's not a lot to do.

It's no problem. I hope you liked them and are having a good Christmas in spite of everything.

Oh, well, you know how I always worry about everything, although I guess it's rather silly, really. I wonder what Christmas would be like if it was so long, but then again, all the shops start going on about it so early that I guess it feels several months long anyway. I hope things get less boring for you over the next few days though -- it wouldn't do for the holidays not to be enjoyable somehow even with things as they are.

They're wonderful and I definitely did like them very much, thank you. Christmas has been all right, I suppose. I wish Mum was here and that I could know for sure if Justin's really all right.

I know you worry, but that's a silly thing to worry about. No offense, of course. I kind of know what you mean, though, because some people are sensitive about it and I always am unsure if I should tell people happy Christmas because I don't believe in or celebrate Christmas, but I figure that it's more or less the same as telling someone to have a nice day. Christmas technically lasts longer than one day, doesn't it? The twelve days of Christmas? But no one celebrates it that long. Hanukkah is kind of different, though, because for Christmas, everyone takes December 25th and has a day off doing nothing, and maybe Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, too. But for Hanukkah, you usually just go about your daily life and take some time at sundown to celebrate, instead of the entire day. Of course, that's because Hanukkah actually isn't a very important holiday, but I'm digressing.

I hope that things get better than "alright" for you soon, Hannah. And you're welcome about the gifts.

I hope you're having a nice evening regardless, Anthony. I didn't know that.

Happy Christmas, Anthony, even if you don't celebrate it. And Happy Hanukkah, too.
