Sansan poem

The day has come, when I finally decided to write something in my own livejournal.

I found this poem and it kind of reminded me of Sandor Clegane. I'm obsessed with him right now, and desperate to understand him more. So here it is. I think of it as a bitter and a bit crazy internal dialogue of his.

Just discovered your post! This is a great poem, intriguing meditation on what Sandor's childhood life pre-father's death could have been like. I love the poem's futile yearning for hearth and home, the desire to leave the lonely wilderness. One of the most poignant Sandor scenes for me is in acok when
Joffrey offers a Kingsguard position to Sandor. He pauses for a long moment and then announces to the entire assembly

why not? I have no wife or lands to abandon and who would care if I did?

A peak inside the mind of this "monster" and what we see is a young man with intensely ordinary desires. And that pause - the space between of reach and grasp where he decided the desire was futile. Sniff...
