As for Niou, it seems he is supposed to be Ryuk, a shinigami. If you were to read the DN manga or read the anime, you'd know who he was right away.

((ooc: Light and Ryuk will definitely be ignoring each other in Brawl. Ryuk-mun and I decided that Ryuk and Light weren't going to discuss each other at all but this will be one of the few exceptions in-game that I will make for Light. Just due to circumstances.))
