Indeed ... which is why the police initially got involved, the mother was of course thinking worse case scenario when the young lady in question went "walkabout" to be with her internet boyfriend.
Luckily, the young boy in question wasn't a 40yr old pervert... just a 17 year old (going on 12) with extremely poor judgment.
Yes, this is a rather pretty place isn't it. Please don't go around telling everyone though .... normally we ask visitors to promise to say it rained all during their stay in order to discourage others from attempting to move here.
Re: teenagers and wisdom (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one). If this particular fellow had even a thimble full it would have helped!!
Embarrassing?... to the perpetrators no doubt, to their parents oh yes. (I find it all quite amusing now, particularly watching the young lad squirm as the whole thing unraveled)
The whole thing is rather amusing NOW ... of course when I was awakened by a phone call at 4am by "Juliete's" father in Taiwan demanding to know where his daughter was, it was considerably LESS amusing.....
Oh yes... classic farce this turned into. Not to worry though, the young man is back in Denmark and the young woman is being sent to Taiwan (and daddy) for a years remedial penance.
A significantly better ending than Romeo and Juliet which was a tragedy of course. (This farce, on the other hand, ended reasonably well) Young love is so .. erm.. young.
