I confess to still being under-whelmed by the disappointing outcome of the Harry Potter series and have been chatting with those of a similar mind for the past two months. This morning I stumbled across the following sentence that, although it was made in the context of modern music, struck  me as applying directly to the HP phenomenon .

I suppose I should really actually 'discuss', since that's what you asked, but I'm a touch pressed for time. What I will say is that the whole HP story was a great idea, but executed erratically in terms of quality, rather like a learner driver in charge of a Rolls Royce. We shall not speak of the last book. Still, JKR's laughing all the way to her Swiss bank account, so what do I know.
