Omigod, yous guys, i finished a fic! A really short fic, practically a long drabble, but dude, it's the first thing i've managed to complete since March, so whatever, it totally counts

and when you say "finished" you mean that this is the first chapter of many many chapters of Eames and Arthur on the run together, and being romantic and also badass and falling in love, right? RIGHT!???

This was awesome---in a few words you create this sense of time and place, so visual and yet so succinct...I loved this...

Nooooooooo! I mean, um, i deliberately left it open for the reader to take off with! Yeah, that's it! Because i need another unfinished fic like i need a hole in the head. But yes... that totally happens. Many many awesome chapters' worth, just like you're thinking. I promise. (;

Thank you so much, bb! I was walking around Navy Pier yesterday and all i could think of was Arthur and Eames meeting there. I'm glad that it came across. <3

starlingthefool helped me whip that line into shape! It's totally thanks to her. And yeah... i can't see Eames believing in a level playing field. If he were going to kill Arthur (not that he ever would, Arthur's way too good a shag for that, plus that whole thing about how Eames adores him), he'd totally do it with a sniper rifle from far enough away that he could be long gone before Arthur got there.

And then he'd run like an antelope out of control. :D

He's demolishing a funnel cake with his nimble fingers, tearing it apart and eating it in bite size pieces, the plastic fork ignored. There's a smudge of powdered sugar on his lower lip and a light dusting on one knee of his slacks where the wind chased it from his paper plate. He's wearing a grey polo shirt that stretches across his chest to emphasize his muscles, tattoos just peeking out from beneath the sleeves, and with the sunglasses and his wind-ruffled hair, it's enough to make him a nicely Chicago kind of dangerous. It's a look that suits him. Arthur approves.

I love this passage so much. It's so visual and prefectly worded. And I love their relationship here, that Arthur automatically assumes Eames is going to try to fulfill the contract and that Eames doesn't see anything wrong with that. Then Eames offers to be there with him and Arthur simply agrees. They're teetering on the edge of being something completely amazing and it makes me so happy. But, gosh, I want more. ♥

*blush* Thank you, bb! NGL, i kind of adore the image of BAMF!Eames eating a funnel cake. :D And it's good to hear that their dynamic makes sense and works.

I want more too, but the whole point of this was to get something finished for a change, to make me feel better about my giant backlog of WiPs. So for now, i've gotta say this is all there is. (But someday, maaaaaybe... After i write Bricknrolla2 and finish the superhero story and the dog tags fill i'm working on that suddenly developed ~~~FEELINGS~~~ and the genderqueer story and and and...)
