The Rapture?

Of course, I don't believe in Premillennial Dispensationalism. And its idea of "The Rapture" is one of the more ridiculous ideas to have been invented in the last couple centuries. But I was thinking today, after seeing some people in christianity who seem to think this idea actually comes from the Bible, what if it did happen ( Read more... )

A lot of those refer to the Second Coming of Christ. But the "Rapture" is supposed to happen prior to Christ's return. There is absolutely no witness in Church history of this belief prior to the mid-19th century. The Church always taught one Second Coming, the resurrection of the dead, and the last judgement. There is no "preliminary" beaming up attested in scripture or in any early Church writings.

I sometimes wonder if heaven is really where I want to be at all. Most Christians are seriously nuts. I mean. Moreso than me. :P
