Our cooker broke two weeks ago, after calls to the estate agent and a visit from the land lady we managed to get a new one ordered. It turned up on Monday and i fitted it last night, trouble is when following the power cableback to the mains i found the switch had been turned off. i pressed the switch and hey presto the cooker works. I thought it was fine, i could always "cook" with it anyway. I suppose i'm kind of a dumbass but i was one of 4 people not to spot it, how are you meant to know if no one ever tells you? Stuff like this should be beaten into you at school, i'd be gutted if i'd just paid for that cooker.

Ok, this night be a good time to tell gently remind you that the cooker is also on a completely seperate circuit to the rest of the household electric supply.

So if the cooker *ahem* "breaks" again, check the flip switch in the fuse box first, before you go crying to your landlord :)
