Excerpts from the Log Book

So, for those who don't know, I'm currently working as a security guard. Mostly, I drive a car with a blinky light on top and a company logo on the side around Wal-Mart parking lots all night. Last night was semi-eventful so here's a few ACTUAL ENTRIES from my log of it to illustrate the most interesting of these events:

0000
Customer tells me that he forgot his insulin at the Hotel Intercontinental and asked if I could take him and his family there. I told him I could not and suggested he call the hotel as they often have a van set aside for just such occasions. He said there was someone coming but he wasn't sure if they would make it in time. At this, he touched his hand to his heart, placed his other hand on my arm, and began to sway. I told him that I was sorry but couldn't leave and he walked away angry at me.

0005
The wife and teenage daughter of "Insulin Man" are sitting on a bench while the sick man stood beside them, joking and laughing heartily and not swaying. As I drive past, he again touches his heart and looks pleadingly at me. As I drive off, he says something that sounds like "son of a bitch".

0015
Taxi arrives for "Insulin Man" and his family.
